The Housing Department, Government of Maharashtra, organized divisional workshops across the state to review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) (PMAY-U) to ensure 100% completion of sanctioned houses by December 31, 2025. The workshops also served as a platform to spread awareness about PMAY(U) 2.0, provide training to stakeholders, and address challenges related to implementation.
The panellists for each of the workshops were Shri. Sanjeev Jaiswal (IAS), Vice President & CEO, MHADA, Shri. Ajit Kawade, Deputy Secretary & Mission Director, PMAY(U) 2.0, Shri. Ravindra Khetle, Under Secretary, Housing Department and Mukul Bapat, Chief Consultant, PMU and AVP, Primus Partners along with district collector and divisional commissioner of respective regions.
The key points of discussions in the workshops included:
- PMAY(U) progress and implementation strategies
- Directives to ensure 100% completion by December 2025
- Fund allocation, geo-tagging, and technical issue resolution
- Sensitization about the scheme and strategy for PMAY(U) 2.0 execution
Additionally, Housing Department, Maharashtra participated in a roundtable discussion on Innovations in Urban Housing’ at the 12th Regional 3R & Circular Economy Forum, organized in Jaipur. Shri R.K. Gautam, Deputy Director General, Housing for All, MoHUA chaired the discussion, where state of Maharashtra showcased key initiatives such as:
- Best practices for Affordable housing projects under the UDCPR and DCPR
- Affordable State Housing Policy
- State Housing Information Portal (SHIP)
