2-wheeler prices set to increase on ABS mandate from Jan 1, 2026
29-06-2025
Nikhil Dhaka, Vice President, Primus Partners, shares his view on the new ABS mandate for all two-wheelers. He highlights that the rule will significantly impact entry-level models under 125cc, which make up 78% of India’s two-wheeler market. Manufacturers will need to replace drum brakes with disc brakes, update assembly lines, and undergo new testing—raising prices by ₹3,000–₹10,000.
