A recent report by global consulting firm Primus Partners, titled "From Extraction to Innovation," reveals India's strategic roadmap to achieve self-reliance in rare earth magnets as part of the government’s Viksit Bharat vision. The report outlines five key policy measures aimed at securing the rare earth supply chain, which is critical for clean energy expansion and electric mobility growth.
It emphasizes creating market certainty through long-term price assurances for NdPr oxide and NdFeB magnets, and recommends structured offtake agreements to attract investment and stimulate domestic demand.
