Premium bike sales rise 4% despite GST hike for 350 cc-plus models
16-12-2025
Anurag Singh, Advisor, Primus Partners, shared his view that motorcycles above 350 cc account for only about 1 per cent of total motorcycle sales. He highlighted that while higher GST has weighed on November volumes, demand in this segment has not seen a sharp decline as buyers tend to be relatively less price-sensitive. However, Singh cautioned that the widening price gap between 350 cc and 450 cc models is becoming increasingly difficult to justify without meaningful product differentiation, which could impact models in the Bajaj 400 cc, Triumph, and Royal Enfield 450 cc segments.
