Davinder Sandhu, Co-Founder and Chairperson, Primus Partners, shared his opinion that India must urgently build an integrated “mine-to-magnet” ecosystem to secure its clean energy, EV and defence ambitions. He argues that despite having rare earth reserves, India remains dependent on imports for critical magnets, exposing it to geopolitical and supply-chain risks. Sandhu calls for a strategic industrial approach combining government-backed demand assurance, long-term pricing visibility and integrated manufacturing clusters to de-risk investment and build domestic capability.
