On August 13th, 2024, the Government of Rajasthan, under the leadership of Shri Inderjeet Singh, Commissioner and Special Secretary, Department of Information Technology and Communication (DoIT&C), hosted a transformative event titled "Roundtable for Accelerators" at the Bhamashah Techno Hub in Jaipur. This landmark event aimed to spark innovation and drive entrepreneurship by leveraging the strategic influence of accelerators across pivotal sectors such as Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, Extended Reality (AVGC-XR), Robotics, Coding, and Agriculture.
The roundtable gathered a diverse group of industry experts, academic leaders, and government officials to assess and enhance the role of accelerators in these impactful sectors. Key speakers included - Mr. Dhruv Gupta, Chief Operating Officer, iTIC Incubator - IIT Hyderabad; Mr. Vaibhav Vashishtha, Senior Manager – Seed Investments and Portfolio, IIMA Ventures; Ms. Bhavna Bhatnagar, Co-Founder, EvolveX Accelerator; Mr. Vaibhav Toshniwal, Lead and Entrepreneur in Residence, India Accelerator; Mr. Harish Mulchandani, Lead: Incubation, Outreach and Investment, PIEDS – BITS Pilani; Mr. Kapil Agarwal, Manager Incubation Programs, AspireLabs Accelerator; Dr. Shweta Choudhary, Founder and Director, Innovher ; Mr. Prasun Talukdar, National Manager – Business Development, Digital India and Strategic Projects, Government and Public Sector, OpenText; Mr. Gaurav Nigam, Sales Manager - Defence and Government, OpenText; Mr. Puneet Madaan, Principal – Portfolio Growth and Exits, Real Time Angel Fund; Dr. Ravi Kumar Goyal, Chief Operating Officer, CCS NIAM; Mr. Rahul Maheshwari, Manager – Innovation Management, CCS NIAM; Mr. Vinod Aggarwal, President, SIAM; Mr. Harshit Joshi, Founding Partner, Favcy; Dr. Vijay Prakash, Director - Directorate of Research, SKRAU; Ms. Avneet Kohli, Co-Founder, StartUp Network Encubay and numerous other experts from various fields.
The roundtable aimed to optimize resource utilization, enhance coordination, and cultivate a dynamic innovation ecosystem within Rajasthan. Discussions were centred around evaluating the effectiveness of accelerator programs, developing strong support structures through innovation studios and specialized accelerators, and accelerating advancements in key sectors like AVGC-XR, Robotics, Coding, and Agriculture.
The event featured a keynote address by Mr. Amit Purohit, Vice President, Primus Partners, and Mr. Sameer Jain, Managing Director at Primus Partners, shared insights on the strategic vision for fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation.
