Auto component makers fear US tariffs will hit their revenues
28-03-2025
Nikhil Dhaka, Vice President, Primus Partners, shares his view on the impact of US tariffs on Indian auto exports. He highlights that the US is a key market for Indian auto components, with exports worth $1.5 billion annually. Increased tariffs could dampen demand, pressuring Indian suppliers to explore alternative markets. However, India's passenger car exports to the US remain minimal—only $8.9 million in 2024, representing just 0.13% of total global car exports—making the tariff’s impact on Indian automakers largely negligible.
