Sunita Mohanty, managing director, Primus Partners, shared her view that India’s rising burden of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and autoimmune disorders should serve as a wake-up call for the private sector. She noted that the Union Budget’s focus on NCDs sends a strong signal to FMCG, food, beverage, and pharmaceutical companies to go beyond compliance and actively partner in public health through clear front-of-pack labelling, healthier product reformulations, and more responsible business practices.
