With extensive leadership experience at the intersection of technology policy, regulatory innovation, and international investment facilitation, Sunita Mohanty serves as the Managing Director at Primus Partners. She leads the firm’s Policy Advocacy practice, working at the interface of government policymaking and private sector innovation to shape India’s economic and regulatory landscape. Her work focuses on developing evidence-based policy frameworks through close engagement with Union and State Ministries, enabling sustainable growth and institutional alignment.
Prior to Primus, Sunita served as Chief Investment Officer at Invest India, where she led India’s foreign direct investment strategy and facilitated cross-border investments by aligning regulatory frameworks with emerging technology ecosystems. Her experience spans digital product safety, government advisory, and investment promotion, positioning her at the convergence of governance, technology, and economic development.
Earlier, as Global User Safety Director at Google, she led trust and safety initiatives across platforms including Google Pay, Maps, Workspace, and Search, impacting billions of users globally. She has pioneered regulatory and technological innovations such as shared Child Safety APIs adopted across major global platforms, and has led compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions including India, Singapore, South Korea, and the United States.
Her work also includes building public-private partnerships with global institutions such as the World Economic Forum Secretariat, NCMEC, and Thorn, and coordinating multi-stakeholder efforts for complex policy development.
